Kalimaya II Floor Plan

Set within a delightful walled garden with entry across a lotus pond, Villa Kalimaya II is arranged in an L configuration around a large swimming pool edged with statuesque Travellers’ Palms.

Housed in a flat-roofed single-storey building, a small dining room with walls of bi-fold glass doors opening onto the garden allow breeze-cooled or air-conditioned dining at a table for six set under a stately chandelier. It links to a handsome, well-designed kitchen where a marble counter with shelf of wine glasses suspended above does double duty as a poolside bar.

On the ground floor of the adjoining two-storey building is a large formal living room, with comfortable upholstered sofas and ottomans arranged around a coffee table set before a 42-inch TV. Also on this level and opening onto a shady veranda is a bedroom with garden bathroom.

Teakwood stairs lead up to a second living and entertainment area with another 42-inch TV and, at the far end, the second bedroom and ensuite. Both light-filled rooms have vaulted teakwood-lined ceilings, and walls of glass opening onto a bougainvillea-edged terrace furnished with a parasol-shaded teakwood table – the perfect spot for a private breakfast or sunset cocktails.

Both bedrooms have king-size four-poster beds dressed in luxury cotton bedlinen, a wall of wardrobes, dressing area and a marble bathroom with bathtub, double vanity and rain shower. Each has a 26-inch TV with satellite channels, DVD player, iPod dock and mini-bar fridge, overhead fans and air-conditioning. (There’s air-conditioning in every room in the villa…even in the bathrooms!)

There’s more lounging space outside in the garden. A cushion-covered alang-alang thatched balé stands at the end of the 12 x 4m swimming pool, which has an adjoining jacuzzi, infra-red sauna for four, and a deck with four red-cushioned sun loungers clustered under two matching parasols.
