Samsara Estate - Villa Viman Reviews

Samsara Villa Viman really is huge, and we loved the fact that even with large groups, there’s still a wide choice of indoor areas to escape to for some peace. The view is exceptional and the pool terrace and sala maximise the enjoyment of the natural surroundings with aplomb. The villa owners obviously have children and the villa has been designed to make sure that guests of all ages are kept busy, rain or shine. The table tennis was a great touch, as was the table football in the huge kids’ bedroom, whilst the home cinema was one of the best we’ve seen.

Service is good and the home-cooked Thai food is excellent – we liked the menu of local delicacies and the fact that the staff can generally organise whatever guests require, whether a pool-side barbecue or sunset drinks in the amazing sala - with English-speaking on-site management close at hand, it’s easy to organise a rental car or a trip to the golf course without getting caught out by the language barrier.

Highlights

Enjoying a sundowner in the sala is definitely one memory that will last – the oversized sofa is a lounging heaven and at sunset it’s a world beater. The villa’s sound system was also a hit: this is a great party venue.

Surprises

As with all coastal properties salt water damage has corroded some of the furnishings around the property but this isn’t a serious setback – more of a concern for the owner. It’s a little unusual not to have a separate kitchen area for guests but the villa’s main service kitchen is large, well equipped and air conditioned which should keep holiday chefs happy should they feel the need to cook.

Overall, we were extremely satisfied with the property and service. The villa is big, clean, modern and spacious, and it has most of the facilities that one would expect for a relaxing vacation. I would highly recommend this villa, especially for families with young children. The pool and the view are a bliss. But the icing on the cake was the top-quality kitchen staff. Their cooking is supreme (five-star quality Thai dishes). This meant we didn't ever have to leave the villa as everything was on hand and prepared. Three deliciously cooked hot meals a day with ample choice and variety at such a reasonable cost. What more can you expect? Kudos to the kitchen staff. They were very efficient and attentive. Thank you ladies!

Be warned. If you like what you see on the internet, what you actually get is so much better and our family was pretty stunned by the beautiful views, not just from the living and dining areas, but pretty much from every room in the house. The staff who cook, clean and generally take care of everything went about their work in a quiet professional way. The cooking was way better than we expected and much tastier than you can get down town. We made full use of the swimming pool, table tennis, table football and even had time for a karaoke session. A trip to Patong Beach only takes about 20 to 25 minutes if you fancy some shopping or alternative entertainment. This was truly a memorable holiday and I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone.
