When we stayed at Villa Sally two years ago we were blown away by its rural location.  Well, the area is still rural, but it’s getting more built up now, so some of the rice fields have given way to new buildings.  On the upside, there is a bit more to do in the area with some new cafes and restaurants all within walking distance.  The service of the staff was always good, but now it’s even more professional.  We were happy to see that the villa has been well maintained and is still very elegant.  In fact, now that it’s not quite so new and shiny, it feels more comfortable and homely.  There is a warmth to this elegant place that is enhanced both by the actual flames of the two fire bowls at the end of the pool, and the visual effects created by the light and swirling waters that cascade down the two water walls in the living room to resemble flames licking the walls. (Watch for this in the downstairs bathrooms as well, very romantic and guaranteed to kindle desire!)

Highlights

The Nintendo Wii in the middle of the living room with its own dedicated 47-inch TV is an indulgence that we thought very highly of indeed and will certainly add a fun competitive streak to the social dynamic; the kind of thing that will even get Granddad bowling a 220 game.  We also loved the private gardens and terraces behind the ensuite bathrooms of each bedroom.  This means that all guests at the villa have their own private space for relaxing and some alone time.

Surprises

As hard as we tried to fault something in the villa it just wouldn’t deliver. But if pushed we would recommend that guests visit one of the many DVD stores in Bali and stock up on titles since the selection on offer in the villa is not the best.

Thank you to all the staff who took great care of us during our stay from 17-22 June 2015! Special mention to: 1. Chef's wonderful & super yummy BBQ dinner; 2. Kadek who was super attentive & friendly; 3. Dewik (I hope I spelt her name right as she says she has only worked there for 2 weeks so do not have the uniform & nametag yet) who was very friendly & funny too; and 4. The female staff who took her own intiative to carry our 5+months old baby around & took care of him while we had dinner on our 1st night there (17 Jun 2015).
