Villa Mimpi is a treat for families looking for intimacy, comfort and style in the middle of Seminyak. It’s located on a quiet backstreet so even though it’s only ten minutes walk from this upmarket district’s famed shops, restaurants and beaches, it really feels much further away. Neighboured by other holiday homes, two-bedroomed Mimpi is characterised by a tropical open-plan design with traditional Balinese alang alang thatched roofs, contemporary interiors and striking modern art. Here, comfort is assured and the set up of the villa means that every family member can find their own space whether they’re watching a movie atop squashy sofas in the lounge, having a snooze in the bedroom or swimming laps in the glittering aqua-marine pool. The soft fluffiness of Mimpi’s well-tended lawn is a real delight to walk upon and with the sun shining down on nearly every part of the tropical, palm-filled garden, it feels much bigger than it actually is. The garden is completely visible from the pavilion-like living and sleeping areas so it’s entirely possible to keep an eye on the kids whilst you’re finally enjoying some hard-earned down-time relaxing in the scorching sun or unwinding in the balmy shade of the balé (gazebo) accompanied by the book you’ve been trying to delve into for months. On the other hand WiFi is available if keeping in touch is essential whilst on holiday. Mimpi’s generosity of space also makes this villa a popular choice for couples, and its privacy is even more of a treat as the villa staff are very discreet. Although breakfast can be cooked for you every morning if you wish, and a maid comes to clean daily at a prearranged time, all staff (on call around the clock) ring the front doorbell before entering so it really does feel like your own private home. The small open-plan kitchen is well-equipped for self-caterers however with such a delicious range of world cuisine on your doorstep, it’s very likely that you’ll spare yourselves the hassle by eating out. However, if staying at the villa to live out your mimpi (Indonesian for ‘dreams’) is more of a treat than dressing up for a night on the town, a cook can be arranged to prepare your meals at cost price.
Along with nine other holiday villas (including Villa Rama) and a clutch of residential buildings, Villa Mimpi forms part of Villa Bugis Seminyak (formerly Seminyak Gardens) Estate located between Jalan Dhyana Pura and Jalan Double Six. This means that the villa enjoys some peaceful isolation from the hubbub of town. Small back lanes lead from the estate to some of Seminyak’s main roads: Gang Keraton leads to Jalan Raya Seminyak where Bintang supermarket (you’ll find an ATM and a pharmacy here) and a host of restaurants are located, while Gang Bunga Kecil leads northwards to the bars and clubs of Jalan Dhyana Pura. The beach at Double Six is a 550m walk away.

About Seminyak
A few kilometres northwest of Kuta, Seminyak is a hip and happening district which has long been the lure of bohemians and jetsetters. This is Bali's late-night party land, laying claim to the highest concentration of independent fine-dining restaurants on the island, including Ku Dé Ta, Living Room, Hu'u, La Lucciola, Sarong, Métis and Sardine. Seminyak also boasts a plethora of chic cocktail bars, exciting nightclubs, sumptuous spas and fashionable boutiques. Seminyak Beach is the place where the local and expat communities gather every evening at sunset. A playground of therich, the famous and the bon vivants, the vibrant nightlife and luxurious accommodation of Seminyak draws a sophisticated crowd of ‘beautiful people', especially Europeans. Nearby sporting facilities include the Canggu Club (of which many holiday villas in the area include guest membership), offering social and leisure amenities, including a state-of-the art gym, a 25m swimming pool and a tennis and squash centre. For horse lovers, three riding stables are located at nearby Canggu – Kuda P, Tarukan, and Bali Equestrian Centre. Nirwana Golf Course – designed by Greg Norman and renowned as one of the best golf courses in Asia – lies about 20km up the coast beside the dramatic, waved-lashed sea temple of Tanah Lot. Seminyak is also convenient for all of Bali's main shops, shopping malls, Waterbom Park, and many tourist attractions.
About Bali
Bali is Indonesia's most popular tourist location and is considered one of Asia's premier tropical island destinations. Steeped in history and renowned for its artistic way of life, Bali is a peaceful contrast to some of the more frantic destinations Asia has to offer. The inner peace and creative talents of the Balinese has attracted artists the world over fascinated by local dancers, silversmiths, wood carvers, potters and painters that seem to pervade throughout the island. The abundant verdant fields and surrounding sea have long supplied Bali with an easy surplus of food leaving time for life's more artistic past times. As a result everything in Bali has a creative and religious element centred around the local Banjar (residents association) – little, adorned temples are everywhere, doors are covered in intricate carvings, huge kites ward off evil spirits and colourful roadside ceremonies bring traffic to a standstill. Bali is a popular destination principally from Australia and Asia but also from all over Europe. The island welcomes thousands of visitors each year to a relaxing lifestyle, stunning beaches, world class surf, vibrant villages, and spectacular scenery all with an exquisite tropical climate. Located approximately two hours' flying time from Singapore the island is serviced by an international airport at Denpasar with direct flights to and from many major cities in Asia, Europe and Australia and many more via Jakarta, Indonesia's capital. The island offers an impressive range of leisure and lifestyle amenities including world-class golf courses, wonderful seascapes for surfing, diving and snorkelling as well as luxurious spas, chic boutiques, tropical forests, towering volcanoes and international cuisine.
Villa Mimpi is a small but perfectly formed villa with two bedrooms and a large living/dining area overlooking the pool and lawn. In the living room you’ll find comfy L-shaped sofas that direct your gaze into the garden or towards the large-screen LCD TV with cable connection and DVD player. Speakers are wired into the rafters of the high roof to deepen the intensity of your viewing and listening pleasure. To the side of this contemporary living space that’s heightened by stylish lamps, cushions, ivory terrazzo floors and a basket full of magazines, as well as by a breezy open-sided tropical design, is a wooden dining table for six, whilst to the rear is a small kitchenette. Fully equipped for self-caterers the grey granite-topped bar that separates the kitchen from the living area can be used as a buffet table or, essentially, for pouring drinks. Next to the living area is the guest bedroom which has a lovely view of the swimming pool from its smooth terrazzo veranda. This room is furnished with a double bed, a wardrobe with electronic safe and a set of drawers. The room is air conditioned and has an ensuite bathroom with an open-air tropical rain shower. The master bedroom is very similar to the guest room, except it opens right onto the pool and fluffy green lawn. It also has a larger bathroom which is made more romantic by the twin terrazzo sinks and the smoothly polished open-air tub. This bathroom also has a rain shower open to the elements.
