Intimate, 2-bedroomed Villa Mimpi is an excellent choice for families and couples since its contemporary, homely design and backstreet location in the heart of Seminyak makes it a comfortable and quiet urban retreat. The sun-drenched tropical garden is highlighted by an aqua-marine pool, tranquil resting pavilion and sun loungers.

It's the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of downtown Seminyak.

Mimpi has a very refreshing, relaxing and exotic feel to it, highlighted by the lush tropical garden, perfectly-placed pool and the thatched Balinese roofs surrounding the villa. It is the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of downtown Seminyak and we liked its open design with the pavilion-like living room overlooking the whole of the garden. It’s a great family house on account of the flat enclosed garden, plus we felt that – with no live-in staff – it would suit couples who value their privacy (and space). The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and whilst water, tea and coffee are complimentary, the useful Bintang supermarket is only a 500m walk away for other supplies. We felt Mimpi was very well maintained with clean, comfortable and equitably sized bedrooms plus tropical bathrooms whose skylights made them feel bright and spacious. Although very simply designed with just three rooms, the villa felt spacious enough and we liked that the balé was located as far as possible from the rest of the house so that tranquillity could still be found even if family members were watching TV or making a noise in the living room. There’s a useful villa information file that details everything from staff telephone numbers to where to eat and what to do. We found the staff to be very helpful and discreet, arriving at the times they said they would and filling us in on the details that we needed to know. They provided breakfast for us during our stay, but you can make your own if you prefer. The villa management office is conveniently only one kilometre away from the house and security patrols the estate 24 hours a day.

Highlights

A great central location that’s protected from traffic noise but easy to reach many of Seminyak’s prime attractions. The villa is well set up with clean and comfortable living areas.

Surprises

Very few – just be careful on the terrazzo floors when wet as they tend to get very slippery. For a self-catering villa, we were a little surprised not to find a full oven in the kitchen, but there is a microwave and a large hob … and all those wonderful restaurants in Seminyak!
