5 bedroom villa located in Seseh-Tanah Lot, Bali. Ideal for Beachfront, Body and soul, Bring the relatives, Executive escape, Fair share for groups, Gastronomic delights, Going for golf, Kid friendly, Perfect for weddings, Room with a view, Sensible for seniors, The great outdoors.
Five-bedroomed Villa Maridadi is virtually a private resort set in sprawling gardens with manicured lawns and ocean vistas. Perfect for families, groups, or as an executive escape, all will enjoy the ability to socialise or have their own space whilst being expertly taken care of by the smiling villa staff.
It’s hard to imagine a more perfect villa for families with older children, groups of friends or business partners, plenty of space and opportunity to enjoy meals and shared social times whilst being able to retreat to a terrace or garden daybed to read a book or enjoy a massage. You won’t be falling over each other on this manicured estate. Maridadi is also a spectacular backdrop for weddings, dinner parties, barbecues or sunset cocktails. Highly recommended is an evening cultural dance and music performance arranged by the villa staff, who can also prepare the famous Balinese Babi Guling (roast suckling pig) to make it an authentic Bali evening.
We particularly enjoyed long beach walks with ever-changing views – from wonderful villages with traditional outrigger fishing boats to stunning rice terraces, surfers and ceremonies. There is nothing nicer than returning from a long walk or bike ride to a pre-arranged massage or treatment selected from a menu at the villa (extra charge). Children of all ages invariably end up turning the front lawn into a football, rugby or cricket pitch and will find a variety of picnic spots, like the wooden rice barn, to add to their holiday fun.
The villa is a little off the beaten track with the nearest restaurants and shops 12 -14km away however with such a varied and expertly executed menu, and staff who will venture forth to purchase anything you wish for, we found this was of little consequence. If you do want to get out and about, the villa comes with a car and driver (petrol is charged).
When you have morning views over rice terraces and volcanoes, sunsets over sea temples and breaking surf, sublime comfort, superb cuisine and pampering staff there’s not much else to wish for.

The space, the views and the meals were all wonderful, and sunset followed by dancers from the village make for a very enchanting evening. We also enjoyed the collection of artwork and sculpture around the villa.
Surprises
The sea is quite rough and rocky along this stretch of coast so not a swimming beach, and although the villa is set almost at the ocean’s edge, there is a small road in front which leads to the sea temple.
after 5 fantastic days in pardise we are leaving today - unfotunately. We appreciated your friendliness, hospitality and warmth very much. We want to say 'thank you' to everybody who made us a time we willnever forget. Special thanks to the worlds best chef Gusti who highlighted every day with his excellent cuisine. Unforgettable will be the seafood BBQ at the lumbung. This BBQ is much better than seafood at Jimbaran Beach!
We will keep this paradise in our mind and heart. We are leaving in the firm hope of returning soon. Thank you very much.

Villa Maridadi embodies what I believe to be the essence of coastal bali luxury, the winning combination of a stunning beachside location, surrounded by rice terraces with wonderfully attentive staff, lush gardens and intelligently designed conviviality, I would absolutely recommend this villa.
Located on a picturesque stretch of coastline just south of Bali’s famous Tanah Lot temple, where rice terraces meet the sea, Maridadi conveys a sense of grandeur in the expansiveness of its grounds, whilst the living spaces and the five bedrooms retain an intimate calming charm. It’s easy to imagine – especially from the study adjoining the master suite and the upstairs snooker and TV lounge – that this villa, with its understated style, was intended by the owner to create a balance between work and family life. The buildings are designed in keeping with Bali style: local stone and hardwood-clad exteriors, polished wood and terrazzo floors, thatched roofs, outdoor bathrooms and comfortable covered terraces. These are all enhanced with an impressive collection of carefully chosen artwork, sculpture and furniture tastefully displayed throughout.
The lawn boasts a whopping 20 x 5m lap pool which is certainly big enough to wear out even the most energetic of children, who will also love the lumbung rice barn, a virtual tree house overlooking the gardens and ocean, guaranteed to provide hours of make-believe fun. Then there’s the tennis court, mountain bikes, walks on the beach and the nearby golf course or, if it’s pampering you desire, ask for the menu of spa and massage treatments, arranged on request.
The staff of fourteen are wonderfully attentive and well versed at making your stay more than enjoyable. The villa menu is as extensive as the grounds and the resident chef has had training overseas; your taste buds will definitely not go unsatisfied here (meals charged to guest account at cost). For a true Bali experience ask Yoga, the villa manager, to arrange for a gamelan and dance troupe from the local village to come and entertain you. It’s the real deal, not a tourist troupe, and is welcome income for the village community.
Mengening beach is on the edge of the sleepy village of the same name in the area of Desa Cemagi, characterised by some stunning views over rice terraces to Bali’s famous volcanoes and the ocean. There are no tourist restaurants or shops in the area although within fifteen to twenty minutes drive are the Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali resort and golf course, the famous Tanah lot sea temple and Echo beach at Berawa where there are a number of restaurants and a few small shops. In the local village and on the beach you will often see colourful Balinese ceremonies.
About Seseh-Tanah Lot A few kilometres to the northwest of Canggu, a towering banyan—one of the ‘elders' of the tree kingdom—heralds the turning to Seseh, a traditional beachside village approached via an avenue of coconut palms. Seseh and the tiny neighbouring villages of Sogsogan and Cemagi still retain the customs and culture of old Bali. Here, you will see farmers in conical hats riding rusty old upright bicycles, as well as frequent, colourful processions to Seseh's large beachside temple. There are no international restaurants here, but you might just see a barong (a high-spirited, benevolent beast representing the power of good; danced by two men inside an ornate costume) dancing on the street. The good news, for folks who want to immerse themselves in the customs and culture of old Bali, is that the villagers encourage and welcome congenial visitors. There are now over 30 private rental villas in these three villages, all of which have seamlessly integrated without in any way detracting from the simplicity and charm of the location. This is an ideal destination for those who want to get lost in the beauty of the countryside, and for those who want to engage with the local people and gain privileged insights into the Balinese Hindu lifestyle.
A little further up the coast is the area known as Tanah Lot, famous for its dramatic and venerated sea temple, which is perched on a craggy wave-lashed rock just at the edge of the glistening black shoreline. It is probably the most photographed sight in Bali, especially in the late afternoon when its splendid profile is silhouetted against the setting sun. The Tanah Lot locale is also home to a number of private villas due to presence of the 18-hole, 72-par, championship-standard Nirwana Bali Golf Club, which is frequently voted the number one golf course in Asia. This is still a far-flung area with few shops or restaurants, apart from the many souvenir stalls and simple eateries within the temple grounds, and three international restaurants within Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort.
About Bali Bali is Indonesia's most popular tourist location and is considered one of Asia's premier tropical island destinations. Steeped in history and renowned for its artistic way of life, Bali is a peaceful contrast to some of the more frantic destinations Asia has to offer. The inner peace and creative talents of the Balinese has attracted artists the world over fascinated by local dancers, silversmiths, wood carvers, potters and painters that seem to pervade throughout the island. The abundant verdant fields and surrounding sea have long supplied Bali with an easy surplus of food leaving time for life's more artistic past times. As a result everything in Bali has a creative and religious element centred around the local Banjar (residents association) – little, adorned temples are everywhere, doors are covered in intricate carvings, huge kites ward off evil spirits and colourful roadside ceremonies bring traffic to a standstill. Bali is a popular destination principally from Australia and Asia but also from all over Europe. The island welcomes thousands of visitors each year to a relaxing lifestyle, stunning beaches, world class surf, vibrant villages, and spectacular scenery all with an exquisite tropical climate. Located approximately two hours' flying time from Singapore the island is serviced by an international airport at Denpasar with direct flights to and from many major cities in Asia, Europe and Australia and many more via Jakarta, Indonesia's capital. The island offers an impressive range of leisure and lifestyle amenities including world-class golf courses, wonderful seascapes for surfing, diving and snorkelling as well as luxurious spas, chic boutiques, tropical forests, towering volcanoes and international cuisine.
The master suite and two further bedrooms are housed in individual cottages and include four-poster king beds and outdoor bathrooms with terrazzo baths, covered fan cooled terraces with comfortable Javanese daybeds and colorful artwork. The master suite is divided into bedroom and study with the bathroom opening off a connecting corridor, while the study houses one of the villa’s two television sets as well as a desk, library and a window alcove daybed. A separate double storey guest wing is home to two twin-bedded rooms both which have outdoor showers but no baths. Above these is an enclosed air conditioned games and TV room featuring a full-size, immaculate snooker table as well as a full home theatre system, DVDs, books, board games and brightly cushioned daybeds. There’s also a cross trainer for those wanting more than a beach walk work-out.
The main living balé accommodates a comfortable rattan lounge area as well as an impressive solid wood dining table for ten, whilst the center of the open, fan-cooled room is occupied by a huge red-cushioned daybed and antique coffee table overlooking the 20m swimming pool and gardens. Carefully selected artwork, sculpture and decorative pieces are displayed throughout the villa adding interest, sophistication and style and the bar cabinet houses a Bose surround-sound stereo system and selection of music.
The pool area and lawn is set up with a further alfresco dining table, plenty of sun loungers and poolside shower – very handy for washing off beach sand. One corner of the cricket-pitch sized lawn is home to a raised wooden rice barn or lumbung offering magnificent ocean views and hours of fun for children.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you might need including a large mobile barbecue and an impressive selection of cookbooks should you wish to have a browse or whip something up yourself.
