The Experience
A quick glance at the guest book at Villa The Beji says it all – happy smiley faces drawn by kids; words full of thanks for the staff that make this little “paradise” tick; regret at having to leave. Most of the comments are from families and it is no surprise as Villa The Beji has something for all the family – a floodlit tennis court, mini soccer nets, basketball, a gym, a huge projector home theatre screen, a great swimming pool and, unusual for many villas, a large expanse of lawn as its focal point.
Overlooking the lawn is a raised, fan-cooled, open-sided lounge with all round views of the gardens and pool – a great place to keep a watchful eye on proceedings. Adjacent is a similarly styled dining area with an imposing four-metre-long table fashioned from a single tree. Huge stainless steel sculptures adorn the white Palimanan stone walls. Split either side of the lawn are six huge contemporary Balinese styled bedroom pavilions, all ensuite and air-conditioned, leading down to the swimming pool. Carp-filled fish ponds and pretty lush flower gardens wrap around the rooms giving each a certain privacy.
The staff and food come in for particular praise – nothing is too much trouble, be it a tennis coach, car hire or a poolside barbecue. Villa The Beji has a suggestion menu with a good range of Asian and Western fare and the chef takes requests (on guests account). The guest book is by no means restricted to families. Many weddings, groups and company events have chosen Villa The Beji, and all speak highly of their experiences.

Incredibly well laid out especially for 2 or 3 sharing families.
Our stay at Villa The Beji was delightful. The villa is incredibly well laid out, especially for families – it would make a smashing venue for two or three families to share. All six bedrooms are fabulously spacious and have extravagant bathrooms, and the living areas are all strategically positioned for parents to keep a watchful eye on children. There’s a huge amount to do at the villa itself – swimming pool, home theatre room, table tennis and gym, as well as a tennis and basketball court and a mini football pitch (the latter shared with the adjacent sister villa). If that’s not enough, nearby is the beach and the Finns Recreation Club, which provides first class recreational and leisure facilities. Guests of Villa The Beji enjoys complimentary access to the exclusive Finns Recreation Club Guests for up to 6 guests daily.
The Beji’s staff were a real pleasure and made our stay very easy – the chef produced great food, the waiters and waitresses were discreetly attentive and the villa manager very keen to assist. They made the villa particularly hard to leave when it was time to head home!

Highlights
We loved the bedroom suites with their pleasant and private shady terraces, huge bathrooms with great baths and showers, walk-through dressing areas and vaulted ceilings. Four of the bedrooms are in pairs, with a shared day room making them ideal for a family. The matching master bedrooms offer even more space and facilities with the added plus of steps directly from their private terraces down to the pool.
Surprises
There is very little one can fault at Villa The Beji (confirmed by the guest book, where we found no complaints). If we were really picky, blackout curtains would be nice to allow for lie-ins (at least for those without kids!), and the benches around the dining table and the projection TV room are not up to the high standards of the rest of the villa. All minor points though, for what is an excellent villa.

The Beji villa was a perfect location for my special 70th Birthday. Our family holiday of 14, 8 adults and 6 children was perfect for everyone. The facilities were amazing for our 5 days stay with the spacious pool the highlight. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the villas amazing and grounds magnificent. We would definitely recommend the villa to all our friends and will stay again.

Three families from The Anglo Chinese Primary School Rugby Team thoroughly enjoyed our 5 days stay at The Beji. The service was awesome, and we simply cannot wait for the next opportunity to visit Bali. No doubt we will be opting to stay here again! From the moment we arrived to the moment of departure we love being greeted by the smiles and happy faces of the staff who cannot do enough for you. Our entire party and guests loved been quite overwhelmed by the wonderful experience. A special mention and the trouble the staff went to to make Geoff's Birthday evening unbelievably great. The bed and bathroom decorations brought tears of joy to me. The venue is clearly beautiful but its the staff that bring it to life and treated us all like family. Our overall experience will be long lasting and will held a special place in our hearts.

Thank you to all the wonderful 'Beji" staff, for such helpful and friendly service during our 8 days stay. We had a wonderful 40th anniversary celebration dinner and fabulous seafood BBQ for three children's birthday party. This magic villa was so much a home away for all of us that we feel very bad to be leaving. And of course the kids never wanted to leave that amazing pool! Thank you so much.

Our stay at The Beji was amazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was great. We had our dream wedding and the venue was perfect. On arrival we were blown away by this stunning villa. It has been the most serene and beautiful location anywhere we have been in the world. The staff are outstanding and looked after us in style.
They are the people who made this vacation the holiday of a lifetime. Nothing was ever too much trouble and everything was done with a beautiful smile. The chefs are world class and the food was amazing. Whatever we asked for was always available and plenty of it. We will leave here with some fantastic memories and we cannot thank you enough. We have had the most amazing time here at The Beji. You have such a wonderful place and we have loved relaxing by the pool, sharing our meals, amazing Seafood Barbecue plus curry night. The Staff have looked after our every need including providing chocolate biscuits with coffee requests. We love the frangipani decorations to the dinner table, amazing! Location
Villa The Beji sits in the rural district of Canggu on a west facing rice terrace, down a short track off Pantai Berawa about 2 kilometres from the main Canggu Road and a similar distance to the Indian Ocean. The villa faces a small stream lined with trees behind which are the Finns Recreation Club (10 mins), some villas and local village houses, and the tiny village of Pelambengan. The nearest beach is Berawa but the rolling surf of Echo Beach (Batu Mejan) with its many casual restaurants is more popular. To the southeast, about 10 minutes drive away, are the trendy shops and restaurants of Seminyak. Legian and the more crowded nightlife hub of Kuta are a further 15 minutes drive away depending on the traffic. Shops such as the Bali Deli, Canggu Deli and Carrefour are easily accessible although provisioning is willingly undertaken by the villa staff on your behalf at small extra charge. Villa The Beji is remote so a car is recommended although there are taxis in the area.

About Canggu
Canggu is fast evolving into Bali's hippest area, its beaches renowned for spectacular sunsets and heady surf. Jalan Pantai Batu Balong is lined with cool bars, cosy coffee shops, and varied dining options offering everything from French pastries to tapas, burgers and vegetarian fare. A holiday in Canggu invariably spells spending a lot of time at Echo Beach where a good choice of restaurants and cafes such as The Beach House await, with daily barbecues and live music on Sundays. Known for its nightlife, other vibrant music venues in the vicinity include Old Man’s and Deus Ex Machina. Local boutiques and spas keep you busy, competing with neighbouring Seminyak just a few kilometres further east.
Here, amongst the rice fields which extend all the way down to the beach, you will not only find some of the most luxurious private residences on the island, but also several eclectic restaurants, cafes, bakeries, boutiques and beach bars. Well known in surfing circles, Canggu boasts reef swells larger than the ones found further south in Kuta and Seminyak. Swimming isn’t advisable however as the rips can be dangerous, but there are plenty of other things to do in Canggu from horseback riding to cooking classes. A visit to Finns Recreation Club is a must for families (several elite havens in the area include guest access) and further north lies the sea temple of Pura Tanah Lot, a great day trip for the entire group.
About Bali

The inner peace and creative talents of the Balinese has attracted artists the world over fascinated by local dancers, silversmiths, wood carvers, potters and painters that seem to pervade throughout the island. The abundant verdant fields and surrounding sea have long supplied Bali with an easy surplus of food leaving time for life’s more artistic past times. As a result everything in Bali has a creative and religious element centred around the local Banjar (residents association) – little, adorned temples are everywhere, doors are covered in intricate carvings, huge kites ward off evil spirits and colourful roadside ceremonies bring traffic to a standstill.

The island welcomes thousands of visitors each year to a relaxing lifestyle, stunning beaches, world class surf, vibrant villages, and spectacular scenery all with an exquisite tropical climate. Located approximately two hours’ flying time from Singapore the island is serviced by an international airport at Denpasar with direct flights to and from many major cities in Asia, Europe and Australia and many more via Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital.
The island offers an impressive range of leisure and lifestyle amenities including world-class golf courses, wonderful seascapes for surfing, diving and snorkelling as well as luxurious spas, chic boutiques, tropical forests, towering volcanoes and international cuisine.

Entry into Villa The Beji is through an imposing cantilevered door standing two metres tall. Most of the villa is hidden until you reach the open-sided living room, where the full array of pavilions, lawn and swimming pool are revealed below.
The villa’s six bedroom suites are housed in individual pavilions. Either side of the pool are the two huge master suites. Each has an expansive terrace overlooking the pool with steps leading down into the turquoise waters. King-size four-posters dominate these bedrooms, leading from which are dressing areas and vast semi-open-air bathrooms with teak-decked baths and rain showers.
The remaining four bedrooms are in pairs alongside the lawn. Each enjoys its own terrace, and similarly generous dressing areas and bathrooms with sunken baths and outside showers. A large decked living space is shared by each pair – an ideal place to spend a lazy afternoon out of the heat of the Bali sun.
Vaulted ceilings, TVs with DVD players, stereos and air-conditioning feature in all six bedrooms. Sliding wood-weave doors, mature gardens and koi-carp-filled ponds give each bedroom its own space and a sense of privacy.
Adjacent to the living room is an open dining area with a four-meter-long table made from a single tree. Benches seat 16. Service is from the modern and extremely well-equipped kitchen, the domain of the in-house chef and his support staff. Drinks are typically served in the open-air sunken lounge bar between the living and dining rooms.
Above the kitchen and staff quarters is a media room with projection TV screen, DVD player and stereo. An outside terrace offers commanding views of the tennis court and surrounding rice terraces.
